Last year’s winner, Gar Berner, shared his experience using the KAMVAS 13:

I don’t usually expect to win anything, so when KidLit GN informed me that I won the HUION KAMVAS 13, it was thrilling. Aside from coloring and lettering, my illustration process was usually analog, consisting of inks and Bristol board.

The learning curve to illustrate on the tablet is pretty intuitive. No inkstains on my hands. The feel of the stylus on the surface does take getting used to. The Kyle’s Megapack brush series provides a wide range to experiment with. For comics illustration, the brush and nib settings work with the pressure settings to vary my line. The paint-style brushes work great also!

The tablet itself is lightweight and operates well on a desk or lap. I have a Mac Powerbook laptop in a shared space and the Kamvas breaks down very easy.The pen handles beautifully and the customizable buttons key into my workflow. As a left-handed artist, it was simple enough adapting the tablet to my odd approach to pen on surface.

My Powerbook is still running OS 10.14 (MOJAVE) and the HUION operating system seamlessly gels with my Mac without any lag or stray marks! The 3-in-1 cord plugs into my USB-B port without any issues.

Overall, I’m extremely happy with my KAMVAS 13, and I’m looking forward to taking my digital illustrations to the next level. Thanks, KidLit GN!

America where HUION has a warehouse. If you live in a country outside those zones and win, you will be responsible to pay any customs/tariff fees.
