Thank you to everyone who took a chance and pitched at our event! We ended up with 195 pitches!

One correction we want to make: One of our enthusiastic members who shall not be named (but her initials are JD, don’t worry, I’m the one writing this 🙂) thought she had a quick counting trick to give her the numbers of how many pitches we ended up with by using the back-end data on the website, which is why you saw early social media posts saying we had 240 pitches.

Thankfully, one of our other members is much more methodical, and calculated the pitches down to an exact number–195. So my deepest apologies for getting that number wrong. To make up for using a counting trick that did not work well, and in light of Halloween coming soon, we’re giving you all an early treat.

If you did not get a chance to pitch before our pitch window closed, you will have a limited opportunity to pitch starting Oct. 15 at 8 am EDT until 8 pm EDT Oct. 17.

The same pitching rules apply, so please review them before pitching. However, we ask that you subscribe to our website. We may need to reach out to you with updated info. Not to mention the amazing articles our OSCA student interns are planning for the year, one of the most exciting of which will be an article about their pitch picks.

Yep, they too will be going through the pitches and picking their favorites and announcing those on our website the week after the pitch event closes. Yours might be on there.

See this awesome video for details.

For those of you who entered your pitches on time, you were sent additional information via email on a bonus opportunity for you to add another pitch, or if you don’t have another pitch, to add an illustrator pitch. If you didn’t get an email with those details, reach out to kidlitgn dot com.

If your pitch isn’t ready, don’t feel pressure to rush it into this event. You can try again next year. And please, share this Trick-or-Treat pitch opportunity with your kids-YA graphic novel creator friends.

Let’s see if we can’t end up with 240 pitches after all.
