If you aren’t familiar with cartoonist and teaching artist Jerzy Drozd, then now is the time to get acquainted with him and his treasure trove of podcasts covering many different aspects of cartooning, writing, teaching, and connecting with readers. Jerzy’s Comics Are Great! website is chock full of podcasts about visual storytelling. Jerzy’s blog ( includes live stream recordings of him working on his Baron von Bear graphic novel while discussing his thought process for all the different aspects of his creation. Jerzy has thought very deeply about creating content for kids and freely shares what he has learned. He is a sage resource for anyone who writes and/or draws graphic novels for kids.
